Optic fitment is only as good as the machining behind it. Each slide is fixtured and cut on our CNC equipment for exact depth, correct bolt-hole placement, and true alignment to the bore axis. The result is an optic that sits as low as the platform allows, mounts securely, and returns to zero.
Refinishing Your Cut Slide
Machining an optic cut removes the factory finish in the milled area, exposing bare metal. That exposed surface needs to be protected — bare steel will corrode if left unfinished. Choose one of the following at checkout:
Full-Slide Cerakote (recommended) — We refinish the entire slide in the Cerakote color of your choice for complete, uniform corrosion protection and a consistent finish across the whole slide, with no visible transition where the cut was made. This is the option we recommend for the best-looking, best-protected result.
No Refinishing — We return your slide with the optic cut machined but not refinished. The milled area will be bare metal. If you choose this option, you are responsible for finishing or otherwise protecting the exposed area promptly to prevent rust and corrosion. We are not responsible for corrosion on slides we did not refinish.
Note: We do not offer partial or "cut-area-only" refinishing. Coating only the machined pocket leaves a visible transition line, doesn't match the surrounding finish, and doesn't reliably protect the surrounding disturbed area. For a clean, durable result, we refinish the entire slide or leave it bare for you to finish.
